Girls Night In
Fabulous Friends, Carefully Crafted Cocktails & Bouncy Blow Dries
We couldn’t wish for a better trio if we tried!
On Saturday night we hosted our much loved Girls Night In, for a group of fabulous ladies at Moksha Room, located in the Foyer of Oaks Hotel on Palmer St. It was an electric evening filled with laughs and glamour, as the cocktails flowed and we blow dried, curled and styled their hair.
Our guests enjoyed a selection of meticulously crafted cocktails. Taste testing everything from the crowd favourite Espresso Martini, to the fun and fabulous Japanese Slipper – which we learnt from our lovely bartender was first created in 1984 in Melbourne. Our team of Moksha Stylists gave the ladies their ultimate night out hairstyles, from polished curls, to adventurous waves. As well as makeup touch ups using our botanical Aveda Makeup!
We had women from all different social circles mingling and laughing as the evening bloomed. Our beautiful co-host, Victoria from A Box Of… treated our guests to a demonstration workshop in creating delicious party platters, followed by taste testing – of course! With a delectable spread of local and imported cheeses, fresh tropical fruits, decadent cured meats, sweet treats, artisan breads and unique flavour combinations. Victoria taught our guests the fine art of constructing a ‘deconstructed’ rustic style party platter, a skill that is totally relevant to today’s dining trends.
Overall, our guests had an incredibly enjoyable evening, and rolled on into their Friday evening with luscious hair styles, satisfied taste buds and new friends! We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our guests, our co-host; Victoria Tonner, our lovely bartenders and all the helping hands involved.

At Moksha Room we take the naturalist approach to beauty, valuing simplicity, style and oneness.
We use Aveda hair and skincare products for our salon services. We believe in the Aveda philosophy and incorporate the Aveda values into our everyday lives.
‘Our mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.’ – Horst Rechelbacher, Founder of Aveda.

The Moksha Room philosophy
We believe caring for the environment is so important, now more than ever. That’s why we use Aveda products, which are manufactured using 100% wind turbine power. Their packaging is 35% post consumer HDPE, and Aveda encourages recycling wherever possible.
The ingredients in the Aveda products are ethically sourced from various indigenous communities around the world and Aveda works hard to support these communities by installing water pumps for them and donating bicycles to help with water transportation.
We also believe that the modern day woman deserves to be nurtured and cared for, as she nurtures and cares for all those around her and commonly forgets to do the same to herself. As the roles of women in society grow and expand, it becomes more and more common for women to overextend themselves and forget to spend valuable time caring for themselves. We know how challenging it can be to find balance in our lifestyles, and often overlook our much needed ‘me-time’.
We have grown our salon with these philosophies driving us, and the environment we have created in the salon is something special that we are incredibly proud of. From the Aveda aromatherapy oils delicately fragrancing the air, and an Aveda comforting tea in hand, we invite our guests to enjoy a complimentary balancing ritual, neck, shoulder and head massage upon arrival, with every salon visit.
Why come see a professional hairdresser
A hairdresser knows how to cut hair. If you’re like most people these days, you’re probably going to some chain salon. Most of the time, you’d walk out of these places with an average haircut. Sometimes, such a haircut would look decent for the first week or so, but then it would grow out into a horrible bowl. The problem is that many of the people who work at salons are not trained hairdresser. They’re cosmetologists. The difference between the two can spell the difference between a good-looking haircut and a great one.
A hairdresser is trained to cut, and colour. Cosmetologists, on the other hand, are trained to use scissors. You won’t meet a hairdresser with skill in other salons these days.
Conclusion
Every time you go to the salon shop, you’ll just feel better. It’s hard to tell what it really is. Perhaps it’s the combination of the smell of hair tonics and the relaxing atmosphere. Salons are places of continuity; they don’t change with the shifts in culture. The places and hairdressers look the same as they did when you got your hair cut. It’s a straightforward experience with none of the accouterments of the modern age.
What Haircut Suits You
A haircut can change a person’s whole image. From complimenting their face shape, to brightening their look. We believe a haircut tells a story about the individual and we take care and precision to ensure that the story we tell is the right one.
Our salon stylists are highly skilled and meticulous when designing, developing and putting the finishing touches on your haircut. We believe the experience of a haircut should be nothing short of remarkable, that’s why we offer the full service, every time you visit our salon.
Upon arrival, our salon guests are seated and offered a complimentary beverage from our selection of teas, coffees and iced drinks. Optional cocktails, wines & spirits are available for purchase. We then invite our guests to enjoy a complimentary balancing ritual massage – a relaxing neck, shoulder & head massage with aromatherapy oils. We then engage in a thorough consultation with our guests to determine the desired outcome of their visit to the salon, and plan for their future visits. Which leads us to our precision style cut, followed by a shampoo, 5 minute head massage and designer blow wave, including your choice or curls, bouncy waves, or straightening!
Our pricing is built on a tier system, so we can pair you with the most compatible stylist to meet your needs!
